Best in Show 2015

Lex Luthor, a Smooth Fox Terrier, was crowned ‘Best in Show’ at the Purina ProPlan Sydney Royal Dog Show.

Aged just four years old, Lex Luthor and his owner, Lee Rushforth, from Lismore NSW, were awarded the prestigious Sydney Royal Ribbon out of the more than 4,000 pooches that took part in the 14-day event.

The international judging team, headed by Mrs Sumiko Ikeda from Japan, faced a difficult decision choosing the winner with the last seven competing dogs demonstrating considerable skill and flair.

Owner, Lee Rushforth, says, “You dream you can do this but never really think it will happen. Lex comes from a long line of winners – his father won Best in Show previously and his mother won Best in Show in Brisbane so there is obviously something in the genes!

“Lex hadn’t been shown in about six months so to win Best in Breed was wonderful but this is unbelievable. There were so many beautiful dogs competing this year which makes the win all the more special. Everyone wants to win Sydney Royal so we are over the moon with the result – I really couldn’t be more proud of him!”
