Crazy canine tails from around the world...

Surfin' Safari

Furry surfin’ safari

Have you read about the pint-sized pooch that loves jumping on a surf board and catching gnarly waves? I know you’re thinking “Yeah, right!”, but it’s 100 per cent true — promise!
Taught by his owner Tim Kevan, Jack — an eight-month-old Border Terrier —is said to be the world’s youngest surfing dog and regularly entertains beach-goers at Saunton Sands, Devon, with his paw-riffic wave riding abilities!
And not only can Jack ride waves up to three feet high, but the clever pooch can also perform tricks like walking up and down his nine foot board while surfing.
“Jack is the youngest surf dog in the world,” Kevan, a barrister and keen surfer, told the Telegraph in the UK. “He is just a natural — he loves it.”
“Whenever he sees the water, he gets really excited and can't wait to get on the board. I wouldn't let him go out there if he didn't enjoy it.”
Kevan taught his furry friend how to surf by getting him used to a skateboard from an early age, slowly easing him onto a surfboard. After a short while, Jack was soon taking to waves like a pro.
He adds: “Everyone on the beach always stop to watch when he is riding the waves - he really draws a crowd.”

Lotsa Rotts!

Rottweiler

Why does Terrie, a four-year-old Rottweiler from Bedfordshire, UK, deserve a long, relaxing pooch holiday? Because she recently gave birth to 18 puppies — the largest litter of Rottweilers born in the UK, smashing the previous record of 13.
Although Terrie’s owner Nicolette Morris knew her precious pooch was expecting, she was amazed when Terrie kept popping out puppy after puppy when she went into labour.
“Terrie was absolutely huge before she gave birth, but I never dreamt she would have so many,” Morris says. “It was staggering — they just kept on coming. I began to wonder if she'd ever stop. No-one has heard to a Rottweiler having more pups, it's certainly a British record.”
However, while there were 18 puppies in the litter, two have since died. But, according to Morris, the remaining 16 puppies are fighting fit and growing bigger and stronger by the day.
“Now Terrie needs help with the feeding, which is brilliant but completing exhausting,” she says.
Morris adds: “I know Rottweilers have got a bad name but I love the breed. They've got such fantastic temperaments, I'd recommend them to anyone.”

A Rotty similar to this one recently gave birth to a record-breaking 18 pups!

Paris Hilton

That’s hot…

If you didn’t already know how much Paris Hilton adores her posse of pint-sized Chihuahuas, it’s now pretty barking obvious — especially when you take a peek inside the plush pad the heiress had custom-made for her pampered pets.
With a sparkling chandelier, spacious balcony, air conditioning and Inside the pooch palace...designer furniture, the “mini-doggie mansion” was designed by the famous party girl and interior designer Faye Resnick to resemble her own luxurious home. And, according to Hilton, the whole gang loves it!
“There are two floors,” Hilton explains. “Downstairs is the living room and upstairs is the closet and bedroom. They love to run up and down the stairs and chill on their balcony.”
She adds: “I wanted it to be elegant, girly, comfortable, pink and beautiful. I even had a black crystal chandelier installed, as well as Paris's pampered pet in their Furrari!gorgeous black ceiling moldings.”
Pretty it may be, but a pooch pad like this comes at a price, with the total cost rumoured to be a whopping US$325,000!
