| Easter Safety for you and your pooch As you know, chocolate is a no-go zone for our loveable canines, so the Easter holiday period is a time when extra care needs to be taken. Make sure your Easter treats are well out of reach of your pooch and make sure wrappers aren’t left lying around the house. If your dog does eat chocolate, let your parents know and take your pal to the vet for treatment.
DID YOU KNOW? Your canine companion doesn’t have to miss out! Did you know that you are able to give your pooch carob-based Easter eggs? You can purchase these from most pet shops.

| How to: keep your pooch's coat shiny - Add fish oils to your dogs diet, These act naturally as an an anti-inflammatory if your pooch has itchy skin and will also leave his or her coat beautifully shiny. - Regular baths. Some mutts love them but others don't. Either way it's important to make sure your pooch has regular baths to get rid of any extra dirt on their coat, to get rid of any funky smells and for the obvious reason to keep them happy and clean. Use a gentle dog shampoo so their skin isn't irritated by human shampoo. - Regular brushing will not only help getting rid of those annoying tangles on long coated dogs but for any kind of dog it will also help with getting rid of excess furr that would have otherwise been shed all over your clothes and around the house. Dogs love this because its like a really nice massage for them.

| Avoiding Doggy Dentures
TOP TIPS FOR BRUSHING YOUR POOCH'S TEETH 1) Start brushing as early in your dogs life as possible. Remember prevention is better than the cure. 2) Make sure your dog is relaxed and comfy. Cuddles always help. 3) Make the first brushing short. If your pooch is getting upset don't force it on them. Try again the next day. It often takes up to a few weeks to get dogs used to getting their teeth brushed. 4)Start by using just your fingertips to rub along the teeth and gums. 5) Always use toothpaste designed for dogs as it will taste better to your pooch. Practice this and slowly move onto using a wash cloth instead of your fingers until your pooch is ready to graduate to a toothbrush.
