This issue we also give you the lowdown on Twilight star Robert Pattinson’s furry best friend and a heroic Queensland Heeler named Blue, who might just have saved his pint-sized owner's life.

Sensational Sadie

Meet Sadie. An adorable Scottish Terrier with shiny jet-black locks and loads of personality, Sadie isn’t your average canine companion. Why? Because she’s the super pooch taking the world of dog shows by storm!

Having recently won the Best in Show title at the National Dog Show in Philadelphia and the American Kennel Council Eukanuba National Championship in California, it came as no surprise when the peppy pooch was also crowned top dog at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show two weeks ago. In fact, Sadie is the first dog in history to win the “Triple Crown” of dog shows in America — how impressive is that!

“A dog of this quality comes along like once every 10 years,” Elliot Weiss, the event’s Best in Show said when asked about the sensational Scottie. "This is a complete dog.”

Sadie’s handler Gabriel Rangel is just as proud of his furry friend, “I couldn't ask for anything else. She's a very happy dog. She really enjoys herself."

Brave Bluey

Family photograph of Victoria with Blue.

We all know that our furry friends are special animals, but it isn’t until a story like this comes along that we can fully appreciate how amazing they really are…

It all started when three-year-old Victoria Bensch from Arizona, US, disappeared from her bed in the middle of the night. Where did she go, you ask? The toddler had actually wandered away from her home, luckily with her four-legged friend Blue in tow, and into the rugged wilderness.

Did we mention that is was icy cold?

Wearing only a T-shirt, pants and tennis shoes, Victoria was found 14 hours later, just one kilometre away from her home, snuggling up to her heroic pet pooch, who stayed with the little girl all night.

“She was able to stay warm with the dog,” Sergeant Jeff Newnum from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said in an interview. “It's probably what saved her life — it was extremely cold out here.”

The Dogs Life Kids Club team thinks Blue deserves a medal! What do you think?

Twilight stars at the MTV Awards.

Vampires love dogs too!

Well, not real vampires… We’re talking about the stars of the smash-hit Twilight series, of course!

A few issues ago, you might remember that we filled you in on the furry friendship Ashley Greene (aka Alice Cullen) has with her adorable pooch Marlow. Now Robert Pattinson — or Edward Cullen, as I’m sure you all know him as — has also come out and declared his undying love for his own four-legged pal.

“The only emotional connection of relevance is with my dog,” Edward — oops R-Patts — says of Patty, his West Highland White Terrier. “My relationship with my dog, it’s ridiculous.”

“My dog is the only lady friend in my life,” he said in another interview.
I have a really girly dog, but she hasn’t got a girly attitude. My dog is a little bit like Beyonce — it has a Beyonce walk, which is strange for a little terrier.”
