Newtown Dog Show

This Sunday 10th November, Camperdown Memorial Rest Park in Sydney will transform into a playground for pooches and their paws with the annual Newtown Festival Dog Show.

The festival will hold a fashion show for the stylish doggie, a competition for best owner-dog look alike and the festival Doggie-Dash with heats of small, medium and large dogs racing.

The dog show is part of the Newtown Festival, one of Sydney’s largest community events celebrating the suburb’s passion for tolerance, diversity and acceptance. It is said that each year more than 80,000 people come together to experience the festival’s vibrant smorgasbord of music, the arts and grassroots creativity.

Entry is just a simple gold coin donation, with all money raised to be given to the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre to provide support services to the local community.

Not sure your dog will like the crowds? That’s OK, shoppers can wander the park and browse a library of 280 stalls consisting of vintage fashion, local art and fair trade products, and there will be exotic food stalls from the four corners of the globe for when you get hungry.

It’s a great day out for everyone and the dog show is always a major highlight!
