Dog Tails – Amber

Welcome to the next instalment of Dog Tails. When clients visit us for studio pet portraits, they often recount the stories of their dogs lives. With each dog being different, so is each story. Some are happy tales, some inspiring, some sad, but each one ends with love as their dog subjects find a place and person to call their own.

Just recently we had a visit from Jaimie and her of 18 month old Dalmatian, Amber. Jaimie says “I have always loved Dalmatians. I was at a dog show mid last year and a registered Dalmatian breeder overheard me saying how much I want a Dalmatian. He approached me and mentioned a very special puppy he had – she was the only puppy in her litter.

Once the show had finished, I went straight to his place to meet Amber and I fell in love with her instantly. I took her home a few weeks later when she was big enough to start her new life. She is 18 months old now and such a sweetheart. She has lovely energy and had been easy to train – she has a range of tricks she can do and enjoys running through them.

When she was little, she met my Mum’s dogs and she loved them. She loved my other dog Jack (who has since passed away but when she met one of my sister’s dogs, she did not like him at all. It’s funny because he’s the only dog she doesn’t like and we have no idea why. She loves every other dog she’s met at the park and out in public. She just doesn’t like my sisters dog for some reason. It’s funny how they are choosy about who is their friend and who isn’t!”
